This is a round-trip paddle which means we’ll be leaving from and returning to the Laacke & Joys dock.  The cruise will leave a little after 4:00pm and return around 5:30pm. Cost of the trip is $10 per person. - - - Sunday morning paddle: We will be heading out before the doors officially open on Sunday\, May 19th. This cruise will leave from our dock at 10:30am and return around 12:00pm. Participants are welcome to arrive starting at 9:30am. It wasn’t until I was studying dance at the University of Wisconsin – Madison that I was introduced to yoga. I did not initially immerse myself in my yoga journey\, but I truly believe that what you need has a way of finding you.  We all have our share of obstacles: At the age of 24\, I suffered three fractures to my vertebrae. Not knowing if I would be able to dance\, or even walk again\, I know now that I need to honor my body and keep it healthy and strong.  My return to yoga was six years ago with the hopes of regaining mobility and strength in my back\, but I found so much more. I have suffered from severe anxiety and insomnia\, for neither of which I could find relief from medical treatment. The 11th Annual Milwaukee River Challenge splashes into town this September 17th as dozens of collegiate and club teams test their stamina and precision on the Milwaukee and Menomonee rivers. The single leg 3 mile Challenge will begin at 25th & Canal streets on the Menomonee River\, proceed east to the junction with the Milwaukee River\, and turn north to Schlitz Park just below Pleasant Street. More than a dozen bridges on the Milwaukee and Menomonee rivers will allow spectators intimate views of the racing bladework. Outdoor seating at the many riverside restaurants\, as well as Schlitz Park\, the Milwaukee RiverWalk and the Harley-Davidson Museum grounds will also provide spectacular vantage points. The Milwaukee River Challenge is the most accessible rowing race for spectators in the U.S. No where else are spectators as close to the shells when they are racing. There are no entry fees for participants in this race.
