Recreational Kayaking Basics Classes (on the water)

Each class will focus on the basic strokes and safety skills needed to enjoy paddling a recreational kayak on our many calm inland lakes and rivers. By improving your skills and learning the strengths and limitations of your craft, you will be safer and more comfortable on the water.
Classes are taught by Sherri from Sherrikayaks.com and are held behind Laacke & Joys Downtown Store on the Milwaukee River. We are offering 3 classes, each covering the same material. Dates to choose from include:
Thursday, June 20
Thursday, July 25
Thursday, Sept. 5
Cost:
Classes are $60 (includes all equipment) or $50 (with your own kayak).
Time:
All classes begin at 5:00pm-7:30pm.

In addition to the classes, do you still rent kayaks for use on the Milwaukee River from your Water Street location?

Hi Richard. Yes, our Rental Department for summer includes kayaks, canoes and standup paddleboards. Kayaks and paddleboards are $40 per day and canoes are $30 per day. Each additional day is $10. You can launch from our dock on the Milwaukee River or if you want to take them off-site, we’ll help you load them up on your car.
